Always worth the wait...

Side Note: I'm 11 away from 1000 followers!!! I can't wait to get there! This is so huge, and a HUGE giveaway is planned!! :)

I went.

I saw.

and then I went again.

Oh yeah, I'm talking about Harry Potter (those who aren't a part of this epic event, know that I'll be back to normal posting tomorrow)!
Today are the facts and photos of this awesome event!

Facts:

  • We arrived at 6 PM
  • We waited in line for 6 hours
  • We were the first in line (weird or not)
  • We saw Dumbledore (I know, I know, he's dead)
  • I learned a game called Ninja (and at 10PM it's fun)
  • Dueling is allowed in the theater
  • Harry Potter was awesome!!!!!
  • Best film so far (most accurate) Part 2 will probably kick it's ass (I hope!)
  • Made $24 Million at midnight (didn't be Twilight, but the Vamps got it going on)

My Photos: Line 6 @ 6, it was meant to be. My husband Trevor, my cousin Matthew, his friend Kera, the kids playing Ninja, a picture of the line!

Melissa Widden's Photos!!!! She had a ton of fun as well! You'll see Mad-Eye Moody, Hedwig, Hogwarts Students, Molly Weasley, Dumbledore! Doesn't Melissa's face paint rock??

Did you enjoy Harry Potter? Did you wait in line? How many times have you seen it?

So jealous you got to see it. Sounds great! 6 hours in line...I am so not a line person. Yeah, I would have melted. Hah.

It was sooooo amazing! Love you pic Jen! My son and I are going again on Tuesday when we get out of school for Thanksgiving break. Looks like you had more fun in your line. But then again we didn't have to wait 6 hours!

It was THE.BEST.HP.MOVIE.YET!!! Loved it! The special effects, the emotions, the locations. Everything was spectacular. Emma Watson was brilliant -- seriously the best acting performance she's ever delivered. Coming out of the theater we were asked to participate in a movie review/survey. Near the end it asked for my two favorite scenes. How to choose??? The wedding scene? In Luna Lovegood's house? At the frozen pond? The dungeon, the beach, the Burrows...???

Definitely going to own this one (to make our HP DVD collection complete, to date) and can't wait for June 2011 and the release of Part 2!

Waiting in line for six hours is insane! Not sure what movie could ever entice me to do that. Bet you can guess by my answer that I haven't seen it yet. Might have gone this weekend, but I got sick so it'll have to wait...

I really loved this movie. I thought it was the best one so far!

We are all planning to see it this weekend when everyone is home. Can't wait!

Thank you for this post! It makes me feel so much better about camping out for hours to get into the midnight showing of both New Moon and Eclipse.

Take that Justin Beiber, you ain't got nothing on wizards and vampires!

took the kiddos to the saturday matinee. bought tickets ahead of time, expecting the place to be packed. however, the theatre was nearly empty... guess that's one of the good things about a small town! :)

You waited in live 6 hours?? LOl I guess I wouldn't do that for any movie--I hope it was worth it!!:)

Hubs took me last night for a capper to my birthday! Yay! We got there and bought tickets at 7:09pm... previews started at 7:10pm. (Don't hate me for the luck of the line... ;D ) Anyhow, I loved it. The hubs thought it was slow... I threatened the doghouse and he rephrased. haha!

You're closing in on that 1000!
And sorry, as far as the movie goes, once was enough. Glad you enjoyed it though.

Shoot, I could never stand in line for 6 hours for anything. I'm just not that dedicated. Still haven't seen HP yet. We were going to go this weekend, but then my in-laws mentioned coming up to see it with us, but first I had to loan them number 6, so...yeah. Maybe this coming weekend!

We live in north bumble, so when we went at 11:45 AM on Saturday, there were only about 30 people in the theater, it was awesome to get the best seats and have it not be super loud.

Meredith said...

Looks like you had such a fun time! And I love that you learned that dueling is allowed in the theater :)

My hubby and I went on Friday night. Thank goodness for Fandango because it was sold out by the time we got there. We were almost at the front of the line so we got seats dead-center in the theater. Girl next to me took my armrest with her stupid cup, but the movie was awesome! Not exactly for the little ones anymore, though.

Amy Saia said...

Looks like you had fun! That's awesome. Can't wait to see it!

I saw it yesterday. I saw it first, hubby stayed at home and watched the boys, then I watched the boys so he could go. Hubby bought our tickets in the morning so I didn't have to wait in line at all. Isn't he great? Oh, and the movie rocked too, lol :)

Wow... how fun to see so many people dressed up!!! Love the student outfits!!!

I went to see it Friday at 11:50... got there maybe 10 minutes before it started. Hardly anyone there! Love being self employed!!!

LTM said...

you're so funny seeing it multiple times. I'm such a movie lover, I'd do the same thing if I didn't have kids/had more time and money... Can't wait can't wait! We're going this weekend~

P.S.
why can't I get on Jules's site?

Regina said...

I haven't had the time to see it yet. I wanted to go Friday, but things didn't work out. Maybe this weekend I can get to it. Love the pics!!

Laura S. said...

I'm happy to hear it's the most accurate! I'll see it when it comes out on DVD. I'm not a huge fan of the films because I dislike it when scenes that are NOT in the books get created for the movie. The books are a million times better!!!

Fun stuff! I have to wait until the crowds die down before I go. Not as brave as you to be surrounded by so many die-hard fans!

Shannon said...

Looks like you had a great time! Love the pictures! We only saw a few people dressed up, but the crowd was excited!

If you get a chance, please stop on over to my blog today. A brave fab friend submitted his/her work for critique and I'd love your feedback.

I guess if I were going to be objective, I'd admit the movie had its faults. But who wants to be objective? Harry Potter rocks!!

So I saw the movie in NY this week (a surprise lol) We walked in ten minutes before the 6:30 show. Got tickets (for 7 people) and sat in a half empty theater hahahaha

Glad you had a great time!

I've only seen it once so far, but have every intention of going back on Friday once all my cat trapping is done! I didn't wait in line because I had RESERVED SEATING! So much better when you get to be MY age, you know. I remember the days (back when the first one came out) where sitting in line for six hours surrounded by friends and people all dressed up was FUN. I vow to do it for the last one. I really LOVE that couple who dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Weasley! What a GREAT idea!! I wonder if I can trick the hubster into that for the final movie...Thanks for sharing the pictures!!

Krispy said...

Aww, it sounds like your screening was super fun! Love the pics! I didn't go to a midnight one, so it wasn't as exciting, but I loved the movie! A friend of mine on the East Coast went to a midnight showing where someone lead the audience in a rendition of Potter Puppet Pals' "Mysterious Ticking Noise."

Great pictures and it looks like an awesome time! :O)

Also, so happy to have found another HP lover! Awesome pictures, looks like fun. I really liked the movie, too. Although I wish the people in line at my theater were as entertaining as yours look.

You're so close to 1000 girl! This is so exciting! I hope you get there asap!

Again, I love your pictures!

HP7 part 2 is going to be EPIC! I think I might cry, just because it's over... so sad.

I love hearing about it and seeing the pictures.

I planned to go on Sunday, but I got sick. I'm still fighting my stupid cold. I feel so out of the HP movie loop!
